There are quite a few decisions to make about your high school senior portrait session. I realize these decisions can seem overwhelming to parents and seniors.
With over 12 years of experience, I've pounded a lot of pavement and trekked through many fields to help my high school seniors capture the vibe they are after for the senior session.
Ultimately, it comes down to the personality of the senior. However, for senior guys, I always start with suggesting an urban setting first.
Heading to an urban environment provides plenty of chances for senior guys to sit on steps, lean into door frames and pose in other ways that feel natural. Posing for senior guys is a way different than posing options for senior girls.
Let's be honest, the majority of senior guys are doing a session to keep mom happy. So, the more I can put them at ease with a session that feels natural, I'm able to keep everyone happy.
Downtown Butler, PA is one of my favorite places to shoot for an urban vibe without heading to the Burgh and dealing with parking and walking a ton. Through the years, I've found some great alleys and locations to give my urban shoots a consistent vibe.
Keegan and his mom were agreeable to an urban setting. He wore a suit, which I highly recommend unless it's totally not your jam. He also brought his golf club and hockey equipment as well as two casual outfits - one short sleeve and long sleeve.
